Lavish Cocoa Body Butter | DIY

Last week I talked about how much I enjoy making DIY green beauty items at home. Not only is it fun but it’s also a great way to know what’s in your products. In this post I’m sharing a recipe for a cocoa body butter that will leave your skin feeling nourished and silky soft. It’s a combination of coconut oil and cocoa butter so it smells simply delish!

DIY Lavish Cocoa Body Butter

This decadent cream’s scent is a chocolate lover’s dream. Bonus: The cocoa powder provides a hint of bronzing color.

1 / Measure the cocoa butter and coconut oil, then mix them with a spoon in a small heat-safe glass bowl.

2 / Bring 2 inches (5 cm) of water to a boil in a small saucepan, then reduce the heat to low. Place the glass bowl in the saucepan and melt the ingredients.

3 / Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Stir in the cocoa powder. Add the peppermint oil with a pipette.

4 / Refrigerate for 30 minutes, until the mixture has started to set but is not yet fully hard.

5 / Blend the butter with a hand mixer on medium until u y, 3 to 5 minutes. Scrape down the sides as you go.

6 / Store in a lidded container in a cool, dry spot. Spread on your skin when you crave a bit of moisture.
